Harold Albert
Good News Prison Ministry, Martinez, CA

After a life of ministry as a pastor, college administrator, educator and mission executive, Harold Albert was called to serve the "least, the last, and the lost" as a chaplain in three jails in Contra Costa County. Harold serves with the Good News jail and Prison Ministry, the largest non-governmental provider of chaplains in the world. Good News provides evangelical chaplains in fifteen countries.

Harold's primary place of service is in the maximum-security facility where he conducts a ministry of evangelism and discipleship through Bible studies and one-on-one spiritual counseling to inmates. He also ministers to staff and is available to pray with and for them, and to offer spiritual counsel as opportunities arise.

He provides Bibles and Christian literature that are donated by churches and individuals. About five hundred requests for Bibles are received each quarter. He also provides Bible study lessons that inmates can complete to earn a quality study Bible. Over one thousand lessons were competed in his facility last quarter.

Harold and his wife Dorothy have been members of Clayton Valley Church since 1996. Harold has served as the Chairman of the Board of the church. Since Good News J&PM accepts no tax dollars, each chaplain is required to raise his own support. Interested churches and individuals provide Harold's support.
