Awana Store Night
Store Night is an highlight of the Awana Club, as Sparkies and T & T Clubbers “cash” in their hard-earned shares for goodies.
Our Store Night this year will take place right before the Grand Prix – Saturday, May 1, from 12 – 12:30PM.
Awana Grand Prix
This year, our Awana Grand Prix will be held outside in the upper parking lot on Saturday, May 1, from 12:45 - 2:00PM.
The Awana Grand Prix is a Pinewood-Derby style racing event with an over 50-year record of fun and excitement. Clubbers will create their very own race cars from Awana kits consisting of a block of wood, axles, and a set of wheels. The top designs and fastest cars receive special awards. Depending upon interest, there will be an open derby competition featuring leaders, parents, grandparents, and siblings.
There will be a 'Pit Party' at the church on Sat., April 10 from 10AM - 12PM in the CVC Ed Wing in the upper parking lot. Clubbers can pick up their Pinewood Derby car kit, get tips from pros, and begin building with provided tools.
Pinewood Derby Car Kits are $3, and are available for pick up at the church office on Tuesdays - Fridays, between 8:30AM to 4:30PM, up until the day of the race.
What is Awana?
Awana is a global ministry committed to the belief that the greatest impact for Christ starts with kids who know, love, and serve Him. At Clayton Valley Church, we have operated an Awana Club for over 30 years because of the simple and seamless way that it brings God's word into the home and hearts of families, because it allows us to play and laugh together (cry sometimes, too), and because we are dedicated to teaching future generations of the hope and love that is JesusThe name Awana is derived from the first letters of "Approved workmen are not ashamed" which comes from the Bible verse 2 Timothy 2:15 - "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
